FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here to Help

HOW LONG CAN I STAY AT MONARCH HOME?

As there is no set time limit for your length of stay, your needs and life circumstances help determine the best length of stay for you. We advise you to make this decision with the support of others, such as your treatment providers, sponsor and input of the Monarch Home community. The average length of stay in sober living is between 6 months and 1 year. We find that this is a normal time frame our residents need to have a firm foundation established before living independently.

DO YOU PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?

Monarch Home maintains financial hardship clauses to assist residents who are truly in need of a little extra help. If you feel this is applicable to you, please speak to a member of our management for further information.

HOW MANY PEOPLE SHARE A ROOM?

All rooms host two residents, including the privacy suite. We believe that having a roommate provides an additional layer of support and accountability for yourself and other housemates. Monarch Home has established ample guidelines to make sure the living quarters remain peaceful and hospitable throughout your stay.

IS MONARCH HOME A TREATMENT PROGRAM?

No. Monarch Home is a sober living in which we provide a structured and supportive living environment for men motivated to seek a life in recovery. Many of our residents are concurrently involved in therapeutic treatment programs such as intensive outpatient and day treatment. We're happy to provide referrals for local treatment centers that can best serve you.

DOES MONARCH HOME HELP ME FIND A JOB?

Yes! The sober living environment is an excellent resource in your pursuit for employment. Many of our residents enter the program without established employment. We have a number of leads for low stress and structured employment within walking distance or through public transportation. Housemates can also provide excellent referrals for work. Our experience is that if you put in the consistent effort and use the principles of the recovery program, there should be no barrier to finding and maintaining appropriate employment.

DOES MONARCH HOME PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION?

Yes and No. We have no structured transportation connected to the program, however, other residents in the home will often be quick to offer you help and support. You should have no problem finding a ride to a meeting or working out a ride share with another resident to the grocery store. We are also located just a block from a major bus route that gives you complete access to all of Tampa, FL and beyond.

WILL MONARCH HOME KEEP ME/MY LOVED ONE ACCOUNTABLE?

Yes we will. The guidelines and expectations we have established are set up to support this. We hold a high expectation of all residents to follow the guidelines and to remain actively engaged in their personal recovery. We want all of our residents to thrive in their recovery and we place a strong focus on this as a sober community.

WILL I HAVE FUN?

We sure hope you will! We know that we are!  Recovery should be fun, exciting, novel and inspiring. We place a strong emphasis on the community element of the program. To assist in this, management will establish monthly sober events that all residents are welcome to partake in! This will include things like barbecues, football game watch parties, volleyball games and social outings.

CAN MY FAMILY, SIGNIFICANT OTHER, OR CHILDREN VISIT?

We like to limit visitation to sponsors and sober support. Of course we are happy to allow your family to tour the home so that they know you are in safe hands. We strongly support building the connections you have with healthy family members. We encourage you to find appropriate meeting places outside of the home for this.

CAN I TOUR THE HOME BEFORE I APPLY?

Absolutely! In fact we encourage it. We want to make sure that you feel as comfortable as possible before committing to Monarch Home. Reach out to our admissions today and schedule a tour!
